Dewey Edmond Brown, age 92, of Mt. Ida, AR. (formerly of New Edinburg), died Thursday July 3, at Montgomery County Nursing Home in Mt. Ida. Born January 5, 1922 in Salina, TX., a son of the late Thomas Harvey Brown and Mary Elizabeth Thompson Brown he was a retired auto body repair worker, a Freewill Baptist and a World War II Army veteran. He married Maxine Dyer Brown June 7, 1941 and she died March 31, 2007. Also, preceding him in death was a brother James Brown, sisters Hazel Mann, Betty Lambert, son in law Mike Beck and a grandson Eric Beck.
Survivors are 3 daughters Betty Barker and spouse Leonard, Porter, TX., Sue Watkins and spouse Greg, Royal, AR., Libby Beck, Royal, AR. 2 brothers Donald Brown, Mabelvale, AR., Gerald Brown, Hot Springs, AR. 4 grandchildren Brent Barker, Kristy Gay, Holly Brown, Brandi Cook. 4 great-grandchildren Kinsley Cook, Kaelin Cook, Ellie Brown and Lainey Gay.
Funeral services 2:00 p.m. Saturday July 5, Frazer’s Chapel. Burial with flag presentation Reaves Cemetery near New Edinburg by Frazer’s Funeral Home. Visitation 1:00 p.m. Saturday July 5, until service time at Frazer’s. Memorials preferred Montgomery County Nursing Home; P.O. Box 1208; Mt. Ida, AR. 71957.
