Girtie Mae Hampton Gilbert, 83, of Jersey, died Wednesday, March 19, 2014, at her home in Jersey.
Born March 24, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Monroe Hamtpn, Sr. and Normie Newton Hampton.
Se was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Jersey.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Gary Kenneth Gilbert and twelve siblings. Hers son Charles Gilbert followed her in death.

Her children - Norma Sue Moore and husband Enoch of Jersey; Matha Singh and husband Surinder of Pine Bluff; Rebecca Gilbert of Warren, Jenny Burnett and husband E.L. of Henderson, TN, and Richard Gilbert of Little Rock
Siblings - Monroe Hampton III and wife Mae Lou of Los Angeles, CA., David Lee Hampton and wife Joyce of Jersey
Sister-in-law - Reba Pickett of Harrell
Brother-in-law - Joe Gilbert and wife Joann of Warren
11 Grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 2 great great grands, and a host of other relatives and friends
Funeral services were March 29 at the Hermitage Community Center in Hermitage with Rev. Arlin Carson officiating and Bishop Larry Hines eulogist. Burial was in Shady Grove Cemetery in Jersey by Hammons Funeral Home.
